no, not because she misses us. not because she wants to catch up and reminisce about the old days. no, not to enlighten us with stories of her wild lifestyle.

she's here with the sole intention of completing a 100pc puzzle, by herself, within 30 minutes, as i did. her ass is huddled in the corner of our living room floor, seated doggy-style, with her mug buried in it, and she's getting really really anxious. she's currently at 50 minutes and about 70% finished.

update:
as a result of her pestering, i am to inform you that she completed the remaining 30% in 10 minutes, thus a total time of 1hr. yeah, she's cool like that, but not as cool as i am.

ok ok, i get it. a bunch of you shmucks take pleasure in making fun of my overweight, domesticated, boring old man ways (i guess not all of you, just Megs). well, let me provide some more fuel for your fire when i say hellz yeah, i love me some jigsaw puzzles!

i've been obsessed with these things. so much that i even purchased shoes that resemble them (see below). i started off with a 100pc set for sh*ts and giggles, finished in like 30 minutes, then upgraded to a 1000pc which i completed in 7 days, followed by another 1G.

i think this is madness. this is what old married couples do! (oh wait, that is me). damn!

on a recent visit to the Lam's pad, i discovered something quite unusual. i approached their microwave with the intention of heating Sydney's dinner when i found, located conveniently on top of the microwave, a faded teal towel on a paper plate. curiously, i picked the damn thing up and that MF was molded stiff and rock hard in folded position (pictured above). it had obviously been wetted and heated on several occasions but now lay dry as a bone. it was at that exact moment i held it in my virgin hands when Mrs. Lam approached and informed me of the severity of my action, for that crusted towel i held was none other than Mr. Lam's "medical apparatus", used night in and night out. and boy was i delighted to be in possession of such an intimate article...

but the worst thing about my beloved country? the bathroom situation.

first, let me say this. i've spent more time shitting during a 2 week stay in Thailand than i ever have in my whole life. could be a combination of excessive food consumption or chili peppers like no other in this world (the hotter the food, the spicier the shits, and nobody, i mean nobody, enjoys an ass on fire from the spicy shits).

anyway, public bathroom signs are super dope. looking for an actual toilet though ...virtually impossible. and when one is found, of course it's not the seated variety. in the heat of desperation, it always seems the best thing available is a SQUATTER (your everyday hole in the ground complete with hovering swarms of mosquitoes thirsting for those succulent ass cheeks). in addition, fist-sized roaches seem to love lurking in these dark, damp quarters. of course you don't know this until the light is flipped on. not to mention, there's no evidence of "free" toilet paper. therefore, it's required that you bring your own, BYOTP. ignore this simple fact and you're fucked! remember, spicy shits don't come out clean and compact so be prepared to resume sightseeing with splatter marks on your ankles. straight fiasco...

for this, i continuously stress the importance of carrying a fanny pack full of Mylanta and TP while traveling Thailand.

one thing i do admire about in-home bathrooms are the unlikely combination of sink, shower, and toilet all in one room. zero partitions, zero barriers. the ALL-IN-ONE bathroom! it's like a self-cleaning vessel fashioned for the most serious multi-tasker. the combos are endless. for example, while firmly seated on the toilet you can floss and condition your lovely locks simultaneously, immediately followed by some toenail clipping. what a timesaver! those damn Thais are friggin geniuses after all...
